Wednesday 23rd August to Wednesday 6th September, 2017

*Please note that applications from the Japanese institution must be sent centrally. JSPS Tokyo does not accept an application from an individual researcher. A Japanese institution may set an earlier, internal deadline to collect and check the format of the application before submitting to JSPS Tokyo. Under no circumstances will JSPS Tokyo accept a late application.

Coverage of 
Project Funding

JSPS will cover the expenses of the Japanese team; mainly travel and accommodation costs.

1) International and domestic travel expenses 
2) Other expenses (Consumables, honoraria, material printing, communication, meeting expenses in Japan, etc.)

3. Eligibility (Japanese Applicants)

Applicants must hold a full-time or equivalent position as a researcher at a university or research institute in Japan that is eligible to receive Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI).

* There are cases when researchers not employed in a full-time position may be eligible. Such persons must be eligible to apply for Grants-in-aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) and their affiliated institution must judge them able to implement the project and provide an appropriate research environment (e.g. laboratory, equipment, personnel) for it.
