Application Deadline

17:00 JST, Tuesday 3 September 2024

*Please note that applications from the Japanese institution must be sent centrally. JSPS Tokyo does not accept an application from an individual researcher. A Japanese institution may set an earlier, internal deadline to collect and check the format of the application before submitting to JSPS Tokyo. Under no circumstances will JSPS Tokyo accept a late application.

Joint Research Projects - Up to JPY 2,000,000 per fiscal year    (Up to JPY 4,000,000 in total)

Joint Seminars - Up to JPY 2,000,000 in total

Coverage of 
Project Funding

JSPS will cover the expenses of the Japanese team; mainly travel and accommodation costs.

Joint Research Projects

1) International and domestic travel expenses 
2) Other expenses (Consumables, honoraria, material printing, communication, meeting expenses in Japan, etc.)

Joint Seminars held in Japan

1) Domestic travel expenses 
2) Meeting expenses

 * Eligibility (Japanese Applicants)

Applicants must hold a full-time or equivalent position as a researcher at a university or research institute in Japan that is eligible to receive Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI).
