24th January 2024, University of Hull
This symposium is supported by the JSPS London Symposium and Seminar Scheme and by the University of Hull, UK as well as the International Research Center for Hydrogen Energy, Kyushu University, Japan.
The event will showcase the latest scientific advancements in hydrogen conversion technologies and it will address challenges hindering widespread deployment, bringing together world-leading researchers from the UK and Japan. The focus of the talks will be on developing, synthesising, and characterising novel, high-performance, and cost-effective materials, with a specific emphasis on catalysts and membrane electrolytes—the key cost-drivers for hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyser technologies. This symposium is timely as it aligns with Japan's and the UK's intensive plans to transition to net-zero economy within the next 30 years.
The symposium is organised by Dr Mohammed Ismail (University of Hull), Prof Masamichi Nishihara (Kyushu University) and Dr Stephen Lyth (University of Strathclyde).
