JSPS will participate in the ORA for the social sciences as an associate partner and has launched a call for FY2022 for Japanese researchers.
The Open Research Area (ORA) initiative was launched in 2010 and since then it has funded collaborative projects that bring together French, German, British and Dutch researchers from all social science disciplines with a view to building European collaborative projects in the social sciences. Namely, the French National Research Agency (ANR), the German Research Foundation (DFG), the United Kingdom’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Netherlands Scientific Research Organization (NWO) have made a framework agreement. As JSPS aims to foster a wide variety of researchers who can play an active role in the world, participation of young researchers in this programme will be welcomed.
