Ireland-Japan Seminar: Caring Communities in Japan and Ireland: collaboration, engagement and intergeneration relations for realising Ageing in Place

Academic

Date and Time: 10:00-16:00 Tuesday 28th October 2025

Venue: Quinn School of Business – Belfield Campus, University College Dublin

This seminar is supported by the JSPS London Symposium and Seminar Scheme.

The aims of this event are to bring together academics, practitioners and early-career researchers in the two countries, and to discuss the current policy and practice in this area where life sciences (public health nursing) and social sciences (public policy and social work) intersect.

Building on our long-term commitment and strong track record of successful partnership, this cross-disciplinary initiative will cement the two countries’ research communities in this area. It is also designed to create a learning platform for addressing common challenges and opportunities surrounding community-based initiatives, by and for older people internationally.
