International Joint Research Programme

Open Research Area for the social sciences


The eighth round of Open Research Area (ORA 8) was closed.
All relevant documents for ORA 8 are available on the DFG website.

In cooperation with ANR, DFG, ESRC and SSHRC, this program provides funding for international joint research carried out between excellent researchers in Japan and cooperation partners in 4 European countries. The purpose of this program is to strengthen collaboration while achieving a high level of synergy in research conducted in the fields of social sciences.

International Joint Research Program JRP-LEAD with UKRI


In cooperation with JSPS counterpart agencies, these programs provide funding for international joint research carried out between excellent researchers in Japanese universities and institutes and their overseas counterparts. In carrying out joint projects, a synergistic effect is sought by such means as sharing resources and research facilities. This program also aims to enhance and expand training opportunities for young researchers.
