This is a multidisciplinary meeting where presentations in the fields of regenerative medicine and materials for energy will be occurring in parallel. This event is designed to bring together mostly senior scientists and some outstanding early career researchers from the UK and Japan to encourage informal networking and discussion, and to explore opportunities for international and cross-disciplinary collaborations.

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Meiji Restoration which drove the modernization of Japan, the Symposium will look at latest technology trends in the place where young samurai from both Satsuma and Choshu domains once studied, with a view to solving global issues such as environmental problems and frequent large-scale disasters.
