An academic symposium on a wide range of chemistry will be jointly organized by UCL and Yamaguchi University to strengthen their relationship/collaboration. This symposium is held on an annual basis at UCL or Yamaguchi University and in commemoration of the famous Choshu-Five, who were the first Japanese Samurai students from Yamaguchi (Choshu) studying at UCL some 150 years ago. This event is supported by JSPS.

The Call for Nominations of the JSPS 2016 (32nd) International Prize for Biology has opened.
The JSPS International Prize for Biology is a commemorative prize to celebrate the sixty-year reign of Emperor Showa and his lifetime devotion to biological research. It also pays tribute to the present Emperor, His Majesty, Emperor Akihito, who has striven for many years to advance the study of gobioid fish taxonomy while contributing continuously to the development of this Prize. Based on nominations gathered from around the world, the JSPS International Prize for Biology is awarded annually to a researcher who has made an outstanding contribution to biological sciences.
Closing Date for Nominations: 22 April 2016
Nominations should be made to JSPS Tokyo.

2016 JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (Long Term)
For a 12 to 24 month research visit to Japan.
Eligibilty is limited to the natural sciences and UK and EU citizens.
